Calm Body Calm Mind
Creating internal harmony begins with a regulated nervous system.
With a dysregulated nervous system you may find it common to wake up feeling tired. Perhaps you’re someone confused as to why you’re struggling with poor digestion, suffering from frequent headaches, living in chronic pain, find it difficult to fall / remain asleep, or have poor immune function.
A dysregulated nervous system can also affect you mentally. Are you someone who excessively worries, has racing thoughts, is unable to relax, suffers from short term memory loss, or is easily irritated?
If any of these symptoms sound familiar then it’s time for a nervous system reset.
My focus in all somatic therapy sessions is to actively listen, and use traditional Chinese medicine, chakra balancing, and therapeutic yoga practices such as restorative and yin to help regulate your body’s nervous system.
Stop normalizing disharmony. The slower styles of yoga that I teach are intended to help reconnect you with your body. With that reconnection you can begin to recognize your body’s warning signs and shift unhealthy patterns. Living with anxiety, chronic pain, and sickness has been normalized… it is not normal.
Akalai’s 9 day challenge was the perfect compliment to my healing work I was doing at the time. The way he combined myofascial release techniques with yoga targeted areas in my body where I was holding stress and trauma. The releases I felt helped to clear energetic blockages, leaving my body feeling more balanced throughout the day.
